How can I create a narrated slideshow video with Canva or Adobe Express?

Answer

Creating a narrated slideshow video with Canva or Adobe Express

Let’s say you need to create a simple narrated slideshow video that includes an image of the item you’re analyzing (or perhaps multiple images). The image will be in the slides, and you’ll highlight various aspects of it. For example, you might have an image of the Mona Lisa in the slide, with short headings. You could even add arrows pointing to different parts of the painting, but don’t let the arrows be so big that they’re obnoxious or obscuring the artwork.

There are many free apps that you can use to create your narrated slideshow video. If you’d rather stick with Microsoft PowerPoint to create such a video, that’s completely fine. Rasmussen has support to help you do that:

How do I record a PowerPoint presentation in Zoom?

How do I make a video of a PowerPoint presentation using ScreenPal?

But, if you find those options limiting or frustrating to work with, you can use popular web apps such as Canva or Adobe Express. Both web apps allow you to make narrated video slideshows, but you first need to create a FREE account before you can get started.

Note: Canva will record video as well as audio when you create your narrated slideshow. If you’d rather not be on camera and instead just record audio of yourself, then Adobe Express will be a better option.
