How many loans have I taken out so far? How do I know how much loan money I have left?

Answer

There are limits to the both the annual and aggregate total amount of Federal loans that any student can receive, depending on dependency status and grade level.  To review information on the loan limits please click here:  https://studentaid.ed.gov/types/loans/subsidized-unsubsidized#how-much

To review how much Federal loan funding you have taken out while at Rasmussen please visit the Account Center here. Once you are logged in, you will go to “My Finances” – “Accounts Information” – “Account Details”.

To review how much in Federal loan funding you have taken out from all schools attended you can go the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS).

1.    Go to https://www.nslds.ed.gov/nslds_SA/
2.    Log into the system with your FSA ID (your secure username and password that you use to complete the FAFSA).  If you do not have an FSA ID or are not sure click on the “Create an FSA ID” tab.
3.    Once you are logged in click on “FA Review”.
4.    Click “Accept”.
5.    Your loans will be then be listed and you can select each loan to review information about the loan and the lender.
