How do I cite a federal statute or law in the APA style?

Answer

APA defers to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation, a popular legal citation style when citing legal material.

The basic format for the References list citation from the official United States Code is:

Name of Act, Volume Source § section number (Year).
