Who has permission to view my Microsoft Teams meeting recording?

Answer

When you record your Microsoft Teams meeting, all meeting attendees should have access to the recording. You will not need to do anything additional for them to view the recording.

In some cases however, guests will need to be given individual access.

To grant individual access to a recording:

1. Find your recording in your Teams files.

2. Click on the ellipsis next to the recording name, and click the Copy link option. The current access setting will be displayed. In the case below, this recording is set to "People with existing access can use the link". Click the arrow next to it, to see more access options.

3. In the Link settings, select Specific people and enter the email address of the person you would like to have access.

4. Ensure the Other settings is set to Can view.

5. You may also choose to block the person from downloading the recording (meaning they can only view it). Block download is turned on by default.

6. Lastly, click the Apply button to save your changes.
