How can I scan a drawing or notes?

Answer

Scanning a drawing or notes

Let’s say you made a quick sketch or some handwritten notes, and now you need to scan them to submit for an assignment. You could use the camera on your phone, but the results are often blurry and subpar. The goal is to make sure your drawing and handwriting are crisp, dark, and easy to read. Scanning your work is the much better approach for this.

If you have a printer with a scanner at home, you can use that. Or, you can download a free scanner app on your phone or tablet. Popular apps are CamScanner, FastScanner, and Adobe Scan. These apps work on both iOS and Android devices.

Whichever free scanner app you use, make sure to tweak the settings so that the finished scan is crisp and clear with a bright white background and a dark sketch & handwriting. Save your scan as a PDF file and submit it. (If you need to include that scan into another document, save it as a PNG file.)
