Microsoft Teams: What does a Teams meeting recording capture? How can I capture annotation while presenting in a Teams meeting?
Answer
Teams meeting recordings capture audio, video, and screen sharing activity.
Meeting recordings will NOT capture whiteboard activity, annotations, or shared notes. Recordings will also NOT include videos or animations embedded in PowerPoint Live presentations.
If you need to annotate (write) on your PowerPoint presentation during a meeting or live classroom, you can use the annotation feature in PowerPoint's Presenter View. These annotations WILL be captured in the recording. To do so, you must first open your PowerPoint slide deck and then share your screen with participants.
To enable Presenter View in PowerPoint, click the Slide Show tab and check the box for Use Presenter View.
While sharing your screen in a meeting, click the pen icon in the lower left corner and select the object for annotation. Marks you make on your PowerPoint will be visible to attendees and will be captured in the recording.
