How do I troubleshoot my web browser?
Answer
Troubleshooting your Internet Browser
If you are having issues logging in, loading a webpage, or the webpage just halfway loads it is best to clear your cache and cookies on your browser. This essentially gives your browser a fresh start.
- Go to this website and follow the steps needed to clear cache and cookies for your particular browser: https://clear-my-cache.com/.
If you are unsure of which browser you are using, there is a button that says “Detect my browser” which will tell you how to clear your cache for the browser you are on.- Alternatively, here are the support guides for each browser:
- Chrome: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/32050?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en
- Firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-clear-firefox-cache
- Safari: https://support.apple.com/guide/safari/clear-your-browsing-history-sfri47acf5d6/mac
- Edge: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/microsoft-edge-browsing-data-and-privacy-bb8174ba-9d73-dcf2-9b4a-c582b4e640dd
- PRO TIP: If you are on a Windows Computer, in most browsers you can hold CTRL ALT and hit Delete to launch a window to clear your browser settings.
- On an Apple Computer it is COMMAND SHIFT DELETE.
- Alternatively, here are the support guides for each browser:
- Close out the browser and relaunch it and attempt to access your material.
- If the site still isn’t loading properly, your next step is to install an alternative browser. Below are the two browsers we recommend you to use:
- Chrome: https://www.google.com/chrome/
- Firefox: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/
If you have both of these browsers already installed, another suggestion is to make sure your browser is up-to-date and check to see if there are any updates required. You can download a fresh install from the links above
