How do I troubleshoot my web browser?

Answer

Troubleshooting your Internet Browser

If you are having issues logging in, loading a webpage, or the webpage just halfway loads it is best to clear your cache and cookies on your browser. This essentially gives your browser a fresh start.

  1. Go to this website and follow the steps needed to clear cache and cookies for your particular browser: https://clear-my-cache.com/
If you are unsure of which browser you are using, there is a button that says “Detect my browser” which will tell you how to clear your cache for the browser you are on.
    1. Alternatively, here are the support guides for each browser:
      1. Chrome:  https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/32050?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en
      2. Firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-clear-firefox-cache
      3. Safari: https://support.apple.com/guide/safari/clear-your-browsing-history-sfri47acf5d6/mac
      4. Edge: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/microsoft-edge-browsing-data-and-privacy-bb8174ba-9d73-dcf2-9b4a-c582b4e640dd
    2. PRO TIP: If you are on a Windows Computer, in most browsers you can hold CTRL ALT and hit Delete to launch a window to clear your browser settings.
    3. On an Apple Computer it is COMMAND SHIFT DELETE
  2.  Close out the browser and relaunch it and attempt to access your material.
  3. If the site still isn’t loading properly, your next step is to install an alternative browser.  Below are the two browsers we recommend you to use:
  4. Chrome: https://www.google.com/chrome/
  5. Firefox: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/

If you have both of these browsers already installed, another suggestion is to make sure your browser is up-to-date and check to see if there are any updates required.  You can download a fresh install from the links above
