What is the CDA Credential?

The Child Development Associate Credential from the Council for Professional Recognition is a national credential awarded to early childhood educators who meet competency standards in both education and experience. Competency is measured by completing:

  • 120 hours of professional education
  • 480 hours of professional experience
  • A professional portfolio
  • Statements of competence
  • Family questionnaires
