How can I know if a journal is peer-reviewed?

Answer

You can use Publications Locator to find out detailed information about a journal.

To go directly to Publications Locator, visit the A-Z Database list and it is the first item in the list: https://guides.rasmussen.edu/az.php

You can also access Publications Locator at the top of the page while searching in Discovery.

Here you can type the name of the journal you are looking for into the search box.

Click on the title of the journal to pull up the journal record page. Here you can find the area titled "Peer-Reviewed:" The journal details may also provide you with information about the publication type (e.g. "Journal"), a description, and the publisher's website.

In the event that the information about the journal is not available via Publications Locator, you may need to look up information about the journal elsewhere online. One of the best places to look online for confirmation of whether or not a journal is peer reviewed is on the publisher's website. Simply google the title of the journal.
