I need more information on Hall vs Hilbun; specifically why the doctor lost the appeal

For Medical Law and Ethics

Answer

Accessing and reading the opinion is a great place to begin answering this question. FastCase is a database containing full-text court opinions, statutes, regulations, and other legal resources that is searchable.  It can be accessed through the Rasmussen University Online Library.

Fastcase defaults to the "Quick Caselaw Search" for all jurisdictions.  Simply type:

Hall v. Hilbun

in the textbox at the top of the page and click Search.

Type Hall v. Hilbun in the box and click Search.

The next page will display a list of search results listed in relevance order.  Notice that there are two Hall v. Hilbun cases listed--one of which has a red flag.  The red flag indicates that other courts have opposed this opinion (negative treatment).  However, this is the opinion to read.  The second is an appeal that the higher court denied.

Click on the title to view the opinion in full text.

Click the title of the opinion with the red flag.
