What is CRISS?

CRISS stands for Creating Independence through Student-owned Strategies. According to the Project CRISS website, everyone is responsible for effectively teaching students reading and writing skills. Their research indicates that this can be done successfully within content areas. The CRISS project has developed numerous strategies to incorporate reading and writing skills within content areas.
