How do I create a reference for mutual fund information?

Answer

There are no specific APA guidelines for citing mutual funds, but it’s important to remember the basic structure for all APA style references:

Author. (Date). Title. Access information.

In the case of specific report or document types, the reference should indicate the document type in brackets, but would otherwise follow the basic structure provided above. For example:

Author. (Year). Title [Mutual Fund Report]. Retrieved from http://url...

If the document you are looking at does not have an author (remember to look for corporate or group authors!), provide the title of the document/report you are looking at in place of the author.

Title. (Date). Retrieved from http://url...

For example:

American Funds American Mutual Fund Class A: Summary. (2019, November 22). Retrieved

from https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/AMRMX?p=AMRMX
