Children's Literature Comprehensive Database: How? Who? Why?

Answer

Children's Literature Comprehensive Database (CLCD) provides access to relevant information about Pre K-12 media of all types, including reviews from respected publication.

CLCD includes over 2.6 million fiction/non-fiction records with 650,000+ national and international awards plus 540,000+ quality, professional reviews. It includes over 330,000 author/title links plus lesson plans and teaching guides and offers 45 search-limiters to easily find appropriate materials such as interests and reading levels.

Once in the database, you have two options for searching:

  1. You can simply type your search terms in the box and select Search
  2. You can also use the limiters below the search box. Using the limiters will help narrow down your search results. For example, you can locate resource dealing with weather for just preschool age children and that were published between 2014 and 2016. The limiting options are the best part of this database so be sure to use them!
