How do I find scholarly/peer-reviewed nursing articles?
Answer
- Identify the main keywords of your topic
- For example: heart attack and emergency nursing
- Enter 2-3 of these keywords into the database search box. Do not copy and paste your entire PICO or research question into the search box.
- Check the "Scholarly/Peer-Reviewed Journals" box
- This can be done before or after running your first search. The box should be right beneath the search box or over on the left hand side of the page.

- Set the publication date range to limit the results to those published within the last 2-5 years (depending on what your assignment requires)
- If you have too few results, try taking out one or two of your search terms. If you have too many results, try adding an additional search term.
