What is the difference between Live Help and Tutor Match?

Live Help = Brainfuse professional tutors who offer general help online. No appointment is necessary.Tutor Match = Rasmussen peer tutors who are students too, so they are familiar with courses and assignments. Rasmussen tutors are available online, over the phone, and on campus (when available). You must schedule an appointment in advance.

Live Help

  • Brainfuse Professional Tutors are available on-demand in a variety of subject areas, including Statistics, Accounting, Math/Algebra, English, Medical Terminology, Anatomy, and Nursing.  Math and English real-time assistance is available almost 24 hours a day; other subject availability varies (the schedule is available in the Live Help tab by clicking on the "Check Tutor Availability" link).
  • Communicating with Live Help tutors include options such as audio, a chat box, whiteboard, and the ability to upload a document. If you wish to use audio during your appointment (recommended option), simply check the box marked "Tutoring with Audio" prior to beginning your session. If you prefer the session to be conducted in Spanish, you may click on Preferences and check the box "tutoría en español". As more languages are added, you will be able to select those options here.
    • These professional tutors can also proofread your paper if you submit it to the Writing Lab.

      • Your feedback might come in a variety of forms.  You might get comments within the paper itself, you might get virtual "sticky" notes, or you might get commentary at the beginning or end of your paper.

Live Help & Writing Lab Minutes: Each student is provided 500 minutes of Live Help tutoring and Writing Lab usage each month. The amount of minutes available will populate in the Live Help box (under "Connect") in the Tutoring Platform. A Writing Lab submission equates to 30 minutes. Minutes re-set on the first of every month. If a student utilizes all 500 minutes before the end of the month, they may request additional time be added to their account by contacting the Personal Support Center
