What are Discussion Boards and why do I have to use them?

Answer

Discussion boards are electronic communication system that allows students to respond to questions or ideas presented by their instructors. Discussion boards are a very important component of the online classroom. This is where you will discuss topics and exchange ideas with your classmates. In essence, it is an asynchronous, virtual version of a classroom discussion.

Consult the Writing Guide for step-by-step instructions for how to write a high-quality discussion post and response to a discussion post.
