You can find the meaning of NAS diet in one of our medical dictionaries. For example, it is in Jablonski's Dictionary of Medical Acronyms & Abbreviations, available through eBooks and Academic Books via EBSCO. You can get into the database via the Rasmussen University Online Library (under the "Find" column click eBooks).

You can also open Jablonski's Dictionary of Medical Acronyms and Abbreviations directly by clicking on the name.

Once in Jablonski's, you can use the Table of Contents to open up the N section, or click Search Within at the top left and search for NAS.  Several options will pop for the meaning of NAS and you'll need to choose the one that seems most fitting for the situation described in your assignment.
