The steps are provided below for inserting a file name into a footer in a Microsoft Word document.

 

1. Open the footer by double clicking in it

2. At the top of the screen there will be a Quick Parts button

3. Click on Quick Parts and then on Field

4. In the field names list, click FileName.

5. To include the path, or server address, select the Add path to filename check box
