How do I find unemployment statistics for my state and for the county that I live in?

Answer

Unemployment statistics are gathered by the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics. You can browse and/or search their website.

  • Begin at http://www.bls.gov
  • Click on the Subjects tab
  • Click on the region you are researching underneath Geographic Information 

Click on Subjects then your geographic area underneath Geographic Information

 

  • Select the state you are researching.

Select a state from the map

  • You should find unemployment statistics here (scroll down for state information) or select the area/region of the state for even more details!
