Where do I find state and federal legal cases in FastCase?

Answer

FastCase is a database that contains Federal and state cases in addition to other primary legal resources and is a great place to begin a search.

Access FastCase from the database list in the Rasmussen University Online Library or via the Resources link in any online class (Click on the Search eResources link to access the Database A-Z List.)

Once you have linked to the database, click on the Jurisdiction down arrow:

On the next page, select the jurisdiction by checking the states or Federal courts of interest in the menu. Then click Save and Continue.

Type your search terms into the textbox and click search.

Click on the title of cases of interest to view full text.

Consult the FastCase section of the Paralegal Guide for more assistance.

  1. I'm SO glad I looked in this library resource! I thought the LibAnswers would be fun to see what other students are asking and then I found the EXACT question I was having difficulty finding! If anyone ever doubts the library and information resources of Rasmussen, you need to talk to a librarian; it's like they're wizards!
