To find information about a career field, consider using a career outlook handbook, such as The Occupational Outlook Handbook, available online. This resource comes from the Bureau of Labor and Statistics.

Another great place to find information about a specific career field is through websites for professional organizations or certifications.  For example, look at the "I want to be certified" section of the website for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board. 

You may also consider looking for articles from magazines and journals, available the "E-Resources" area of our online library.  The e-resources include links to databases which you can use to search for journal and magazine articles.  Suggested databases to find information on this topic: Medline, Health Sciences & Nursing (ProQuest), CINAHL Complete.

Use keywords for your search; use quotation marks to search for terms as a phrase.  For example: "pharmacy technician".
