How can I find out what the major holidays and celebrations that happen in winter are, and how they are celebrated?

Answer

Holidays and celebrations stem from many different traditions, religions, cultures, countries, times in history.  A great place to start your search is in reference books.  The database, eBooks and Academic eBooks via EBSCO contains a book titled Anniversaries and Holidays that provides a daily listing of holidays celebrated around the world.

Once you have identified the holiday or tradition that you wish to research further, search for that holiday in Discovery All-in-One Search to find articles and resources that discuss these in greater detail.
