How do I find evidence-based practice articles? Or nursing best practices?
Answer
Begin your search in a nursing database:
- CINAHL Complete
- Health Sciences and Nursing via ProQuest
- MEDLINE with Full Text
- Discovery Search (Searches many databases in one search)
In the search box, enter in the nursing topic that you are interested in, such as obstetric nursing or pediatric nursing. Then include the phrase "best practice" or "evidence-based", keeping the quotation marks around the words. Best practices are informed by evidence, so try using both to see how if effects your search results. The words "best practice" may not show up in the article title, so be sure to read the abstract before passing by an article.
Also, you can change the publication date range so that only articles published in the last two years are shown.
