I am a student in the technology program and want to study for an upcoming certification exam. Do I still have access to the LabSim training program?

Answer

Great news!  If a student wishes to continue self-studying and/or preparing for a certification exam after the course has ended, the student can go directly to www.testout.com (the company that owns/operates LabSim) and access any and all items that students were given access to throughout their courses and curriculum here at Rasmussen University.

The 18-month TestOut extension period is on a course-by-course basis, so the countdown begins on day 1 of each course.

Example scenario:

·        If you are in the IT Associates, and you get access to test out for CompTIA A+ in Hardware and Software I, you’d have 18 extra months from the start of the course to practice.

·        If you do not take advantage of it right away, say you take advantage of it 12 months later, you’d have 6 months left to practice.

·        If you do not take advantage of the extension during that 18 months, access is no longer available.

Students will log in using the same login credentials they used for LabSim.  Students have 18 months total from when they are first given access (usually from when the course began) to keep accessing those items for studying purposes.

A few other helpful tips:

Rasmussen University does not give or store the login credentials, so if a student goes to http://www.testout.com and cannot remember their credentials, they will need to work with the site to get password reminders or assistance.

Students also can only access elements that they have been given access to through a course with Rasmussen University.  For example, if a student wishes to study Linux but they have not yet taken a Linux course with Rasmussen University, they won’t be able to access that element until they complete that course.
