Like in Angel, Blackboard Learn allows for "template variables" (also known as "tokens") that make it easier for faculty to individualize or customize announcements automatically.  Template variables or tokens are code that you can write into an announcement so specific data and information appears automatically when a student views a course announcement.

The following are template variables or tokens used in Blackboard Learn.  These are analogous to (but not the same as) the “$value$” tokens that are used throughout ANGEL to reference/display specific data:

First Name: @X@ras.firstname@X@ ; Current Date: @X@ras.date@X@ ; Last Name: @X@ras.lastname@X@ ; Current Timestamp: @X@ras.timestamp@X@ ; Full Name: @X@ras.fullname@X@ ; Student ID: @X@ras.stuid@X@ ; Username: @X@ras.username@X@ ; Course ID: @X@ras.courseid@X@ ; Email: @X@ras.email@X@ ; Course Title: @X@ras.coursetitle@X@ ; Current Time: @X@ras.time@X@
