This really differs from person to person; however, consider the time you would spend in a class on campus. If you spend four hours in a lecture environment in a traditional setting, estimate that you will be required to do the equivalent time reading lecture material in an online environment. Also, be sure to allocate time for assignments, projects and papers.

A good "rule of thumb" to follow is every credit hour equates to 2 to 3 hours of homework per week.
For example, a 4 credit hour class will likely require 8 to 12 hours of work per week.
